Founded in 1936, Paturel has long been a prominent Canadian seafood company. Purchased in 1999 by our parent company ECSG, Paturel has seen many facility improvements to its Deer Island operation.
Our Deer Island team runs the facility using highly efficient processes, designed specifically to reduce the amount of time and handling to maintain the fresh-caught quality of each individual live lobster. Today, our facility can pack 30,000 lbs. of live lobster in under two hours, allowing us to meet customers’ distribution needs in a timely and cost effective manner. Our blast freezers, production lines, and clean rooms complete the dual capacity of the operation – live and processing in one location.
